Receiving Treatment at the Clinic
All patients are advised of the following information prior to treatment
Physical Therapy
- Tui Na massage
is performed fully clothed and requires a suitable form of clothing to be worn.
- The practitioner will inform you of this, or supply you with a suitable garment.
- Due to the production process of some garments the design can cause rubbing of the skin.
- Tui Na Massage is a deep tissue systems and require constant feedback from the patient in order to provide an effective treatment.
- Bodyworking
involves stretching and manipulation techniques which are performed to the
patient’s personal comfort; you must inform the practitioner when this threshold
has been reached.
- In chronic conditions some discomfort may be felt in the first stages of treatment.
- Should you experience any discomfort or acute sensations, you must inform the practitioner immediately.
Acupuncture Treatment
- The requested information is necessary for your safety and to benefit your health. Your treatment will be safe and professional, but certain medical conditions may impose certain limitations.
- Acupuncture is a very safe procedure but can pose some reactions in patients.
- In some cases Acupuncture may produce a stinging or burning sensation, bruising may occur around the site of needling, there may be some discomfort for a short duration following Acupuncture or minor localized bleeding may also occur.
- Although these reactions are rarely experienced it must be noted that this possibility may arise.
- If you feel that you have suffered from any of the above following a treatment that is of concern to you and wish to discuss it, please contact your practitioner who will be able to discuss the matter with you.
Post Treatment Advice
An automated email is sent following the initial new patient consultation. The following advice is provided for patient comfort following treatment.
- Following your initial treatment and for the next 48-72 hours i advise that you take care and look after yourself so the body and mind can do its work to help improve your symptoms.
- Lifting heavy weights, overuse of the body, poor diet and excessive emotions can reduce the positive results we are aiming for. Be good to yourself and enjoy life for few days.
- Drinking plenty of water can help reduce any discomfort and also ease any emotional changes.
- Good foods like soups, broths, casseroles and fruits can also help move things along.
- Working together is the best way to start building great health and get the results you require, so please stay in touch, i am here to help.

- If your symptoms have not improved to a satisfactory level within the next 4-5 days, I advise booking your next appointment within 7-10 days to achieve the desired results.

- We have a great support system in place should you need further help with your concerns. As a registered practitioner with the CNHC - Complementary Natural Health Council and the AcuC - Acutherapy Acupuncture Council, we are confident any matter will be dealt with professionally and personally.
1. Each user must complete a consent form and short medical questionnaire prior to using the infrared sauna.
2. Please be aware of any safety notices when using the sauna.3. All users of the sauna must complete an induction session prior to use. This will provide each person with the correct and safe practises when using the device.
1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of knowledge or experience, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
2. Children are not permitted to use the infrared sauna.
3. If you notice any damaged while using the sauna please notify your practitioner immediately to avoid any hazards
4. Cleaning of this infrared sauna will be carried out prior to and following your session.
5. All users are required to shower before visiting the clinic for their session.
6. Please remove any facial or body make-up before use as this could damage the sauna.
7. For clinical hygiene procedures, each person must bring a set of clean towels to their session. 1 x large towel to be places on the seat when in use. A small towel for removing sweat during the session and another small towel to be placed on the floor under the feet.
8. Suitable clothing or underwear must be worn at all times in the sauna.
9. Do not cover any of the black Infrared Emitters. Covering the infrared heaters causes of risk of damage to the sauna and overheating.
10. Individuals who may be at risk from hyperthermia, such as individuals suffering from severe cardiovascular disease, should seek medical advice before use of sauna.
11. If you experience reddening (erythema) of the skin lasting more than a day after exposure to infrared radiation, exposure should not be repeated and medical advice should be sought to prevent development of erythema benign (bloching and redness of the skin)
12. If you are a person with sensitivity to heat or under the influence of alcohol or tranquilisers you should not use an infrared sauna.
13. You must follow the basic safety precautions and guidance prior to using the sauna.
14. Pregnant women and elderly people suffering from any medical condition directly related to temperature should consult their health care professional before using the sauna.
15. Persons using prescriptions medications should consult their health care professional before using the sauna.
1. Do NOT fall sleep inside the sauna while the unit is in operation.2. DO NOT adjust the timer of heat settings. These will be set to your preference prior to your session.3. DO NOT enter the sauna with any type of chemical agents, skin ointments or body oils as these may cause harm to the skin and damage the sauna.4. DO NOT handle any of electrical controls while using the sauna.5. Drink a large glass of water prior to use.6. Drink regularly throughout your session inside the sauna to keep hydrated.7. If you feel too hot you can open the door slightly to allow cooler air in to the sauna.8. When your time is up, open the vent in the ceiling of the sauna and cool down for 5 minutes.
1. Pat down the body with a towel to remove any excess sweat.2. Step out of the sauna onto the towelling mat closing the door behind you.3. Remove any damp clothing and place immediately into a suitable bag.4. DO NOT place damp clothing on any clinic surfaces.5. Wipe off any remaining sweat from the body.6. Place any paper towelling in the waste bin provided.7. Place any clinic towelling or property in the bin provided.8. Redress, leaving the space clean and tidy.
Clinic Appointments
Booking Appointments
- Appointments are pre-booked online via the clinic booking system.
- Only the times available can be assigned to a customer.
- Appointments are not offered without payment prior to attending the clinic, unless otherwise arranged with the practitioner.
- Patients under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian to be present at the initial consultation.
- We are primarily an Acupuncture clinic and physical therapy is provided in conjunction with Acupuncture. We do not provide singular sessions of massage therapy.
Changing your appointments
- Appointments can be changed up until 24 hour prior to your booking time.
- This can be completed via the link that is sent with the initial booking conformation.
- You can only change your appointment for the same type.
- A full charge will be applied for late cancellations.
Cancellations
- Appointments can be cancelled by contacting the clinic up to 24 hours prior to your appointment.
- Emails are not accepted for cancellations.
- A phone call or SMS/text message is preferred.
- A full charge will be applied for late cancellations.
- Each case will be looked at individually.
Appointment Refunds and Charges
- We are happy to refund any clinic appointments when notified within 24 hours of the allotted start time.
- An admin/booking fee of £2.50 will be deducted for refunded payments to cover the initial booking/payment fee and time taken to process the refunded money.
- Refunded payments take 5-10 days to reach customer bank accounts.
Events Refunds and Charges
- At present Stonehouse Holistic does not offer refunds for events.
- All event bookings are non-refundable.
